Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

Aquaman: Temuera Morrison, a veteran actor who may be best known for his role as Jango Fett in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (above), is in negotiations to join Aquaman. If things work out, he would play the human father of Aquaman (Jason Momoa). Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe and Patrick Wilson are already confirmed to appear; Nicole Kidman and Yahya Abdul-Matteen II are in early negotiations. James Wan will direct, with production expected to begin in April. [THR]

The Strangers

The Strangers 2: In December 2015, we heard that a sequel to the 2008 thriller The Strangers (above) was on its way, heading toward a December 2016 release. That didn’t happen, but now the project has a new director, Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door), as well as plans to finally start shooting this summer. The sequel will be set in a secluded mobile home park, where a family must fight off three masked intruders. [Variety]

Transformers: Age of Extinction

Transformers: The Last Knight: After 10 years, director Michael Bay (above with Mark Wahlberg) is ready to say good-bye to the Transformers franchise. In a letter posted on his site, he says: “It’s bittersweet for me. With every Transformers film, I’ve said it would be my last. … I love doing these movies. This film was especially fun to shoot. This time might really be it. So I’m blowing this one out.” Transformers: The Last Knight will open in theaters on June 23. [Michael Bay]
