Han Solo: Michael K. Williams (Assassin’s Creed, HBO’s The Wire) is in talks to join the untitled Han Solo movie. If things work out, Williams will join Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Thandie Newton. Production is now underway; Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing. The Star Wars spin-off movie will open in theaters next year. [Variety]

Mary Poppins Returns: Disney has provided the first look at Emily Blunt in Mary Poppins Returns. The sequel is set in London during the Great Depression and follows the now-grown children from the classic musical as they deal with new challenges. Lin-Manuel Miranda and Meryl Streep also star; the movie is due for theatrical release on December 25, 2018. [Disney]

Mission: Impossible 6: Vanessa Kirby (above), who has recently won acclaim for her performance as Princess Margaret in the TV series The Crown, is in final talks for a lead role in the sixth installment in the Mission: Impossible movie franchise. Christopher McQuarrie wrote the script and will direct; Tom Cruise will return. Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner may also reprise their roles. [Variety]
