Everybody Wants Some!! / Fences

Overlord: Wyatt Russell (Everybody Wants Some!!, above left) and Jovan Adepo (Fences, above right) will star in Overlord, J.J. Abrams’ World War II supernatural thriller. Julius Avery (Son of a Gun) will direct. Russell and Adepo will play paratroopers who are dropped behind enemy lines, only to discover that the Nazis are the least of their problems. [THR]

The Lobster

Iran-Contra: Colin Farrell and director Yorgos Lanthimos, who previously teamed on The Lobster (above), will reunite for an Amazon series about the Iran-Contra affair in the 1980s. Farrell will star as Oliver North, a former U.S. Marine who was involved in “the sale of weapons through intermediaries to Iran, with the profits being channeled to the Contras in Nicaragua.” The project, which is not yet titled, is still under development. Mr. Bean's Holiday

Top Funny Comedian: Rowan Atkinson returns as his hilarious character Mr. Bean (above in Mr. Bean’s Holiday) in a new comedy, but if you want to see it, you’ll have to go to China. Top Funny Comedian, the latest installment in the Mr. Bean series, is drawn from a Chinese variety show and is set in Macau. Currently, there are no plans to release the movie in the U.S. [The Telegraph]

The Last Face

The Last Face Trailer: Charlize Theron and Javier Bardem head to a war-torn country in Africa to provide assistance, only to fall in love and then find their lives threatened as a revolution breaks out in a new trailer for The Last Face. Adèle Exarchopoulos and Jared Harris also star; Sean Penn directed. The movie will open in theaters later this year. [Movieclips]
