xXx: Return of Xander Cage

xXx: Return of Xander Cage: Vin Diesel said back in January that he was asked to consider making another installment in the xXx action-thriller series. Now comes word that a production deal has been signed for a sequel. Last week director D.J. Caruso said meetings would be held this week, adding: “Honing in on story and start dates.” As to the cast, he said: “All coming back.” [Variety/Twitter]

A Simple Favor: Anna Kendrick (The Accountant, above) and Blake Lively are in talks to star in A Simple Favor, a thriller that will be directed by Paul Feig (Ghostbusters). Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle: Jack Black says that the sequel to Jumanji will feature a tribute to Robin Williams, the late star of the original adventure (above). Black says: “We find clues left behind by [Williams’ character Alan Parrish]. He built up a full-blown jungle house, similar to a Swiss Family Robinson situation.
