Enola Holmes Mysteries: Millie Bobby Brown (Netflix’s Stranger Things, above) will star in a film series based on Nancy Springer’s Enola Holmes Mysteries series of books. Brown will also produce. Fifty Shades Freed

Bad Times at the El Royale: Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades Freed, above) has joined the cast of Bad Times at the El Royale. Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) wrote the original script and will direct the rather mysterious thriller, which is set in the 1960s at a low-rent motel. Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Bridges, Russell Crowe, Cynthia Erivo, and Cailee Spaeny will also star. [Tracking Board]

Stuck in the Middle

The One and Only Ivan: Young Ariana Greenblatt (Disney Channel’s Stuck in the Middle, above) will play one of the human leads in The One and Only Ivan. Based on Katherine Applegate’s prize-winning book, the story revolves around a gorilla who lives in a cage at a shopping mall along with an elephant (to be voiced by Angelina Jolie, who is also producing) and a stray dog. Brooklynn Prince (The Florida Project) will voice a baby elephant. Thea Sharrock (Me Before You) will direct the CGI/live-action project. [THR]

Basmati Blues Trailer: Brie Larson (above) stars in the musical comedy Basmati Blues as a scientist who is sent to India to sell the modified rice she created. The first trailer provides some of the comic and romantic highlights. The movie, filmed several years ago and finally gaining a release, will open in theaters on February 9. [Movieclips]
