Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Hamlet: Riz Ahmed (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, above) is in negotiations to star as the titular character in Hamlet. Ahmed developed the new version of Shakespeare’s classic stage play, set in modern-day London, with writer Michael Lesslie (Assassin’s Creed), who is also a longtime friend. Thor: The Dark World

Thor: The Dark World: What happened to Asgardian warrior Sif (Jaimie Alexander, above) after the events in Thor: The Dark World? Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says: “Sif was probably banished. She’s off somewhere.” Based on his answer, we may not see Sif anytime soon in Marvel’s cinematic universe. We expect to have a better idea on what’s happening, though, after Thor: Ragnarok opens on November 3. [Cinema Blend]


Mamma Mia Sequel: Cher, who last appeared on the big screen in 2010’s Burlesque (above), has joined the cast of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! The sequel will shift back and forth in time to show how the characters change over the years. Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Firth and Christine Baranski will reprise their roles; Lily James and Jeremy Irvine are among the actors who will be portraying the younger versions of the characters.
