Movie News: ‘Resident Evil’ to Be Rebooted; Arnold Schwarzenegger Again Says He’ll Return in Next ‘Terminator’

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Resident Evil: Earlier this year, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (above) concluded the horror-thriller movie series that began in 2002. Nearly four months have passed, however, and now it’s been decided to reboot the franchise. A new six-installment series is in development; no details have been revealed yet, so we don’t know if Milla Jovovich will be returning to star. [Variety]

Terminator: Genisys

Terminator: Last month, Arnold Schwarzenegger declared that he was “looking forward to doing another Terminator movie” and that the franchise would never be finished, despite reports to the contrary. Visiting the Cannes Film Festival, Schwarzenegger reiterated his commitment to the action series that made him a worldwide star, stating that he had recently discussed the project with original creator James Cameron: “It is moving forward. He [Cameron] has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise. I will be in the movie.” [ScreenDaily]

The Zookeeper's Wife

Seducing Ingrid Bergman: Jessica Chastain (The Zookeeper’s Wife, above) will star in Seducing Ingrid Bergman. Chastain will portray the legendary actress in an adaptation of Chris Greenhalgh’s novel, first published in 2012, which is based on the true-life romance between Bergman and war photographer Robert Capa after World War II. James Mangold (Wolverine) was in talks to direct in 2015, but that evidently didn’t work out. [Deadline]

Austin Found Trailer: Linda Cardellini, Kristen Schaal and Craig Robinson star in the first trailer for Austin Found, a comedy about a woman who cooks up a kidnapping scheme to make her family instant celebrities. Skeet Ulrich, Jaime Pressly and Patrick Warburton also star. It’s expected to be released later this year. [Movieclips]
