Last summer, the rowdy comedy Bad Moms was an unexpected box office hit. Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn starred as three overworked and under-appreciated mothers who jettisoned their conventional responsibilities to taste freedom and enjoy a little long-overdue fun.
News of a sequel was no surprise. A few months after that announcement, we heard that Justin Hartley (TV’s This Is Us) would be joining the original cast as a firefighter who moonlights as an erotic dancer. Then came a bigger bombshell, as we learned that comic veterans Susan Sarandon, Cheryl Hines and Christine Baranski would play the mothers of Hahn, Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis, respectively. The mind reeled with comic possibilities.
What hilarity can we expect from A Bad Moms Christmas this coming holiday season? The new trailer pinpoints the challenges facing these mothers when they try to dial down the insanity, only to see things explode when their own moms show up.
Watch the first, green band trailer below.
We also have the very funny red band trailer below. Caution: it features a slightly different selection of footage that includes a profusion of profanity, so it’s definitely not safe for work.
We can’t wait to see how the moms deal with their mothers, who have their own ideas about how the holidays should be celebrated. Jay Hernandez, Peter Gallagher and David Walton also star. Original filmmakers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore returned to write and direct the sequel.
A Bad Moms Christmas will open in theaters on November 3, 2017.
