Movie News: More ‘Star Wars’ Characters Teased by Ron Howard

Han Solo: Director Ron Howard (above) shared a new photo (below) from behind the scenes of the Han Solo movie that is currently filming. The caption refers to Tag Greenley and Bink Otahuna, two Imperial officers who appeared in comic books that are fan favorites but are not part of the official Star Wars canon. Jon Kasdan, who cowrote the spin-off movie, later confirmed the reference; Kasdan and second unit director Toby Hefferman will appear as the characters. [The Verge]

Avatar Sequels: In James Cameron’s Avatar (above), Giovanni Ribisi played a corporate administrator whose harsh attitude eventually softened a bit. Now Ribisi will reprise his role in all four sequels to Avatar; it should be fascinating to see how his character fits into the new scenarios. Avatar 2 is scheduled for release on December 18, 2020. Meet the Blacks

The House Next Door: Mike Epps, who starred in the comedy Meet the Blacks (above), is returning for the sequel, The House Next Door. Epps will reprise his role as author Carl Black, who moves back to his childhood home in search of peace, only to discover that a pimp (Katt Williams) lives next door and may be a vampire. Original director Dean Taylor will once again helm the project. Epps and Williams teamed up for Friday After Next back in 2002. [Coming Soon]

Only the Brave

Only the Brave Clip: Josh Brolin stars in a new clip from Only the Brave. He plays the leader of an elite firefighting corps known as the Granite Mountain Hotshots; in the clip, he has an intense encounter with new recruit Miles Teller.
