Logan” fans who want to see the Wolverine movie in a new light — a black-and-white one — should clear their calendars for May 16, director James Mangold revealed in a tweet Friday.

And don’t think you can just shortcut the situation at home by twiddling your TV’s dials, Mangold advised fans.

@KarlAlden@Aldo7heApache Won’t be on a TV. And the answer is no. To make a great B&W version of a film, the whole thing’s gotta be regraded & timed shot by shot.

In convert to b&w , one must determine which hues go dark/ light, adjust contrast, blacks. Turning down color on tv just makes gray mush.

Mangold also retweeted a black-and-white photo he tweeted out back in October of “Logan” star Dafne Keen, showing the sharp definition and haunting look that black and white gives the image.

Though specific theaters haven’t yet been revealed, Mangold did tell another Twitter fan that the special showings would be in the US only. But the black-and-white version will be included on the film’s Blu-ray and DVD offerings, which are scheduled for release May 23.

The film follows in the footsteps of a “black-and-chrome” edition of “Mad Max: Fury Road” that came out in October 2016 and can be watched online.
